‘Most Ambitious Superhero Film of All Time’

Actor Tom Holland talks to Variety

When Tom Holland was first announced to play Spider-Man. I’ll admit, I was sceptical. Not because I thought Tom was a bad match. It was different from what we saw in the last 2 iterations of the wall crawling hero. Both Toby McGuire and Andrew Garfield played as Peter Parker in his late stages of high school or early stages of college. This new younger Peter Parker was actually a great refresh on the character. Now Tom is in his 3rd spidey film, not including his appearances in the Infinity War Saga or Civil War. I am actually very excited to see how Marvel will take this hero moving forward.

In a recent interview on Variety with Clayton Davis. They talk about Tom’s new film Cherry. A new crime drama movie, Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. Starring Tom Holland and Ciara Bravo. Based on the book with the same name by Nico Walker.

The interview mostly touches on Cherry. But it’s the last few questions for the unnamed 3rd Spider-man film in the MCU we want to know about. Davis asks Tom if he can say anything about the 3rd Spider-Man. Tom replies with “Obviously, I can’t really say anything.”. Tom has a better lock on secrets since he has spoiled plenty of details in the past for the MCU.

Next Davis asks Tom if he can discuss the ending of the new Spider-Man film. Tom almost cracked but kept his lips tight. Stating “What’s funny is like, I nearly told you then. You were so close to getting what you want.” Almost spoiling the entire movie for plenty of readers and listeners. Instead Tom calls the new Spidey film  “the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made.” Possibly hinting that the casting rumors from the past 6 months may in fact be true. Rumors are that both Toby McGuire’s and Andrew Garfield’s version of Spider-Man may join alongside Tom’s version. Finally bringing the Spider-Verse into the MCU. Tom goes on and explains that they only filmed for a short time before the holidays, taking a holiday break and filming should resume soon.
