The time for VR is now.
Oculus is sure of it as they hosted their first-ever full VR showcase this week that was available to watch in VR via your Oculus headset or one of the many streaming platforms hosting the live event. Ever since the launch of their mostly wireless Quest 2 the VR genre is finally expanding from just being a niche corner of gaming to a fully accepted way to communicate, have meetings, and go to the movies during these COVID times. But Oculus isn’t abandoning what made them famous…the games.
Making sure to get the most out of the interactive headsets the showcase puts on display 12 new VR titles, with some of them being full stand-alone games able to be played on the Quest 2 without the need of a PC. Something the Quest 2 needed to truly take advantage of its independent capabilities. Things are looking very promising for VR gamers for the rest of 2021 with titles like Resident Evil 4, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge part II, and another free update for The Walking Dead Saint’s and Sinners, along with some interesting horror titles like Wraith: The Oblivion -Afterlife launching the very next day. 2021 is shaping up to be a big year for VR and I for one can not wait for my Quest 2 to be loaded full of games.
