Starfield: “It’s like ‘Skyrim’ in space.”

E3 is giving us many new titles. One of the most anticipated games that Bethesda showed us is Starfield. From the creators of Elder Scrolls and Fallout, Starfield is an open universe game. The first new IP from Bethesda in 25 years. Will it hold up to the expectations we have from Bethesda?

What we know?

We have very limited information about the actual game. What we do know excites us. From the official website of Starfield. It states “create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom as you embark on an epic journey to answer humanity’s greatest mystery”. Even with this little detail, we can already assume that this game will be massive. To be able to travel from planet to planet potentially.

In an interview with The Washington Post. Todd Howard and Ashley Cheng give us a little more into the IP. Todd stating that “It’s like ‘Skyrim’ in space.”. Now that’s a bold statement that can really hype up a lot of fans. This statements sets the bar high for Starfield.

Todd has also given us some info of a what the game is about. Stating “players will join an organization dubbed Constellation, the last group of space explorers. At the outset, players will choose their character’s background, with many options for customization that will impact how some things in the game unfold.” This means we have the ability to really flesh out our characters past to make Starfield feel like a game of our own design. Giving players more ability to really make the game more personal.

On top of that Ashley Cheng compares the game to Star Wars. By stating “For me, ‘Starfield’ is the Han Solo Simulator. Get in a ship, explore the galaxy, do fun stuff.”. These little tidbits that she is giving us, really sets up what they want the game to be. The possibilities of what to expect are endless and exciting. Hopefully Bethesda can succeed in what they are creating.

Are you ready?

Starfield is set to release on November 11, 2022. We don’t know if it is an exclusive since Bethesda was bought by Microsoft back in 2021. Hopefully the game will release on all platforms. So everyone has a chance to experience what they are promising.
